Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, offered locally through the Oshkosh Area United Way, gives every child in our community from birth to age five the chance to build a love of reading—completely free. Families can sign up to receive a high-quality, age-appropriate book in the mail each month, helping little ones grow their vocabulary, imagination, and school-readiness from day one.

Growing readers is a tutoring program in partnership with UW-Oshkosh, Oshkosh Area School District, the Oshkosh Area United Way, and the Center for Civic and Community Engagement. College students tutor young readers to improve skills and proficiency.

SEPO is a program focused on building literacy & academic confidence with kids. This initiative is focused on our BBAIR (Black, Brown, African, Immigrant and Refugee) youth in the Oshkosh community who are approaching the end of their high school years without proficient reading skills.
